Overview: The AR15 platform provides a flexible foundation for firearms that fill a variety of roles. Due to the modularity of the system as well as a huge number of mil-spec and aftermarket suppliers of components and accessories, there are thousands of different configuration options, and muddling through all of those options has been known to cause severe migraines, loss of sleep, loss of employment, angry spouses, and a host of other ailments. Additionally, once a firearm is selected, the new owner still needs to learn how to operate as well as maintain the firearm in order for it to effectively fill its role. This course is intended to meet all of these needs by providing you with an AR15 configured exactly as you want it as well as all of the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to ensure its reliable performance for as long as you own the gun.  Here’s a rough schedule of the course:

• Step 1: Information Meeting –

• Review the history of the AR15 and discuss the different configuration options, including the advantages and disadvantages of various components.
• Play with a variety of ARs set up in various configurations.

• Step 2: You decide how you want your gun to be built and give us your order sheet with those options indicated. At the same time, we will take payment for the order as well as complete the Form 4473 to do the NICS background check necessary for you to buy a firearm.

• Step 3:  We order all of the components that we do not have in stock.

• Step 4:
  • Class participants come to the shop and we teach you step-by-step how to assemble your firearm.
  • Once everyone’s firearm is complete, we go out to the range to test fire then and zero the sights.
  • Once everyone’s firearm is zeroed and functioning reliably, we do some basic instruction in Stance and Grip, Trigger Management, Sighting and Dealing with Offset, Speed Reloads, Tactical Reloads, Malfunction Drills, etc…       

• Step 5: - We take the firearms back to class, disassemble them, inspect all the components and perform routine maintenance. Then we reassemble the firearms, have a big group hug, and go about our merry way (group hug is optional).
